Investment Options for Hungarian Residency by Investment
Hungarian residence permit through investment can be obtained through investment in real estate funds or a gratuitous donation to a Hungarian university. In both cases, the investor receives a residence permit for 10 years with the possibility of a single extension.

Application for a Hungarian national visa (if required)
If you do not have EU citizenship or visa-free entry, you will need to apply for a Hungarian national visa.
Visit to the Hungarian Consulate
The main applicant visits the consulate to obtain an investor visitor visa. Family members are included in the application later through the family reunification program. For holders of an EU residence permit,or citizens of countries with visa-free access, a visa is not required.
Obtaining a guest investor visa
Once approved, the visa is affixed to your passport and is valid for 6 months.
Submitting an application for a residence permit
The main applicant comes to Budapest for 1-2 days to submit the residence permit application and provide biometric data. The investment must be made within 3 months from the date of submission.
Fulfilment of investment requirements
Upon returning to the country of citizenship or residence, the applicant submits an application for family reunification to the Hungarian consulate and enters into an agreement with the bank. Based on the agreement, a brokerage account is opened for the transfer of investment funds.
Obtaining a residence permit
The application for a residence permit is processed within 21 days, and the residence cards are produced in about 15 days. After that, the investor and their family receive the documents.
